Methodology

How the Movidou relocation readiness score works

The score is calculated deterministically from your own answers and a planning assessment. This page documents exactly what it measures, how it is capped, and where its limits are.

Readiness is a planning measure. It is not immigration, legal, tax or financial advice, and it is not a determination of eligibility.

What the readiness score measures

One headline number out of 100, built from six weighted dimensions. Immigration and timing carry the most weight: unresolved residence research and a tight date can limit the usefulness of otherwise strong preparation.

DimensionWeight
Immigration pathway clarity

Whether a credible legal route into the country exists for your nationality and situation.

30%
Timeline realism

Your runway to the target move date versus the typical processing time for that route.

25%
Financial readiness

Your stated budgets against the upfront cost floor for the destination and household size.

15%
Documentation readiness

How many assumptions in your answers still need documentary proof.

12%
Housing dependency

Whether your housing budget and intent (rent or buy) fit local rents for your family size.

10%
Family considerations

Schooling, dependants and special considerations that add sequencing constraints.

How pathway uncertainty caps the score

Readiness is gated, not averaged. The state of your immigration pathway sets a maximum the overall score cannot exceed, whatever the other dimensions look like. On higher-complexity routes the cap can be tighter still.

  • Pathway not identified

    max 39/100
  • Potential pathway, not yet confirmed

    max 59/100
  • Potential pathway under investigation

    max 79/100
  • Potential pathway research advanced based on your answers

    max 100/100

If no immigration pathway is identified, selected or confirmed, readiness is capped at 39/100. This reflects an unresolved planning dependency, not a decision about your legal position. Investigate the applicable process with an official authority or qualified professional before committing money or dates.

Strong finances, housing or documentation cannot compensate for an unresolved pathway. Once a potential pathway is identified, your preparation can be assessed more meaningfully.

Where you tell us a route has been reviewed by a qualified professional or confirmed by an authority, that is recorded as the review you reported, never as a legal conclusion about it. Based on the review you reported. This records research progress, not an official decision. Verify current requirements with the relevant authority.

Blockers, missing information and assumptions

Blockers

Blockers are the items that stand between your current position and a workable plan. They are ordered so the most blocking check comes first, and each carries a priority, an owner and a timing rather than sitting in an undifferentiated list.

Missing information

Anything we do not know is named as missing, not guessed. If you have not chosen a target city, for example, housing, schooling and cost guidance stay at country level with clear ranges and the decision is listed explicitly.

Assumptions

Household size, children and their ages come only from your saved answers and are never inferred. An unselected route is always described as a potential pathway to verify, never as one already in place.

What the score does not measure

  • Your legal position or the suitability of a visa, permit or residence route.
  • An authority's decision on an application or its exact timing.
  • Official fees, income thresholds, processing times, tax rules or healthcare entitlement.
  • Whether a specific school place, tenancy or appointment will be available.
  • Anything that could substitute for advice from a qualified professional in your destination.

When to verify with an authority or a professional

Always verify before you commit money or sign anything: leases, deposits, school fees, removals contracts or the sale of property. Immigration, tax and healthcare requirements change often, and any rule that depends on consular discretion, nationality-specific arrangements or recent legal change should be confirmed with the relevant authority or a qualified professional in your destination.

Common questions about the method

Is the Movidou readiness score immigration or legal advice?

Movidou provides relocation planning, research assistance, and preparation guidance. Movidou does not provide legal or immigration advice, determine eligibility, recommend regulated immigration routes, predict approval, or replace advice from authorities or qualified professionals.

Why is the score gated rather than averaged?

Because strong finances, housing or documentation cannot compensate for an unresolved immigration route. The pathway state sets a maximum for the overall score, so preparation elsewhere cannot hide the unresolved question.

Does buying a higher plan raise my readiness score?

No. Upgrading adds guidance and planning support, not legal confirmation, and it does not change your assessed score or its cap.

How does Movidou handle information I have not provided?

Missing inputs are listed explicitly as missing information rather than assumed. Where a target city has not been chosen, housing, schooling and cost guidance stay at country level with clear ranges until it is.
