Privacy Policy & Cookies
Last updated: 16 August 2026. This notice explains how Movidou processes personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and which cookies and similar technologies we use. It sits alongside our Terms & Conditions.
1. Who is responsible
Movidou is the data controller for personal data processed through this site and the seller of the reports offered here. For any privacy request, email privacy@movidou.com. For billing, orders and refunds, email support@movidou.com.
2. Data we collect
- Account data: email address, authentication identifiers, sign-in timestamps.
- Questionnaire data: origin and destination, nationality, household composition and children's ages, marital status, move date, visa or employment pathway, housing intention, budgets, preferences and any special considerations you enter.
- Report data: generated roadmaps, readiness scores, checklist progress, drafts saved on your device, purchase and entitlement records.
- Technical data: IP address, device and browser information, error logs.
Accessibility or health-related considerations may be special category data (Art. 9 GDPR). They are always optional and processed only on your explicit consent, to tailor your report.
3. Why we process it and on what basis
- Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): creating your account, generating and delivering your report, payments and support.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): keeping the platform secure, preventing abuse, improving report quality.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a), 9(2)(a)): non-essential cookies, optional communications, and special category details you volunteer. Withdrawable at any time.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): invoicing and tax records.
4. Cookies and local storage
We ask for your consent before setting any non-essential cookie. Strictly necessary cookies and local storage are used without consent because the site cannot function without them.
Strictly necessary (always on)
Keeps you signed in, secures the site and stores your unfinished questionnaire. The site cannot work without these.
Preferences (consent required)
Remembers choices such as saved drafts, layout and language so you don't re-enter them.
Analytics (consent required)
Anonymous usage statistics that help us see which parts of the roadmap people struggle with.
Marketing (consent required)
Measures campaigns and may show you relevant relocation offers off-site.
Your choice is stored on your device under movidou.cookie-consent.v1 and applies until you change it. Analytics and marketing scripts stay switched off unless you allow them. When marketing cookies are allowed, we load the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel, which measures visits and questionnaire completions so we can measure and improve our campaigns. This shares visit and conversion information — never your questionnaire answers — with Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. You can change your mind at any time.
5. Automated processing and AI
Your readiness score is calculated deterministically from your answers, and your roadmap is drafted by an AI model reasoning over our country knowledge base. This is guidance, not a decision with legal or similarly significant effects (Art. 22 GDPR). Your answers are sent to our AI provider only to generate your report and are not used to train third-party models.
Movidou provides automated planning information, not legal or immigration advice. Always verify immigration requirements with the relevant authorities or a qualified professional.
6. Who receives your data
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising. Your data is shared only with the processors and providers below, each bound by a data processing agreement or equivalent contractual safeguards:
- Hosting, database and authentication: our cloud application and database infrastructure provider, storing your account, questionnaire answers and generated reports on EU based infrastructure.
- AI report generation: Google (Gemini models), which processes your questionnaire answers to draft your roadmap. Your data is not used to train their models.
- Payments: Stripe (see below).
- Transactional email: our email delivery provider, for account, purchase and reminder messages you have asked for.
An up to date list of these providers is available on request from privacy@movidou.com. We tell you before adding a new category of recipient.
Payments: card payments are processed by Stripe, our payment service provider. Stripe collects the payment details, billing information and transaction data needed to take your payment, prevent fraud and meet tax and accounting obligations, and acts as an independent controller for that data, see Stripe’s Privacy Policy. We receive only the order reference, amount and entitlement status, never your full card details.
Transfers outside the EEA rely on an adequacy decision or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. How long we keep it
Account and report data: while your account is active and up to 24 months after your last activity. Invoicing records: as long as tax law requires. Browser drafts and your cookie choice: until you clear them. Consent records are kept as proof of compliance for as long as the consent is relied on.
8. Your rights
You can access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, request portability, withdraw consent at any time, and opt out of marketing. Email privacy@movidou.com and we will respond within one month. You may also complain to your local data protection supervisory authority.
You do not have to wait for us: signed in users can download everything we hold and delete their account and data immediately from your account page. Deletion is permanent and also removes your reports; invoicing records are kept only where tax law requires it.
9. Security and changes
Access is restricted by authentication and row-level database policies so you can only read and write your own plans, and data is encrypted in transit. We may update this notice; material changes are announced in the app and the date above changes.
